Last week we told you about how the NGO community formed a steering committee to help the other 143 registered NGO's to become compliant with the NGO Act, so that they can participate in electing the 13th Senator.
There are only 22 NGO'S in "good standing", and the other 121 have until December 16 to do so, or else they will not be able to participate in the January 2017 appointment of that new parliamentarian.
Today, while we had the opportunity, we spoke with Froyla Tzalam, who's the new steering committee's media relations officer. Here's what she had to say on their attempts to make the selection process more inclusive:
The new list of NGO's who are compliant under the NGO Act will be submitted on December 19.
