Immigration Reports Fast Clearances Of Long Lines At Airport
posted (March 21, 2017)
Last night we told you about those extraordinarily long lines for inbound and outbound passenger at the Phillip Goldson International airport. We said it was because there aren't enough immigration agents to process all of them which is based on observation.

Well, the Minister of State with responsibility for Immigration Beverly Williams and the Director of Immigration Diana Locke were observing on that day too. They spent the day at the airport assessing the immigration work situation, and the passenger flow.

Today the Director of Immigration Diana Locke told us via email that it took 9 officers only 15 minutes to clear the Southwest flight from Houston. She points out that on Fridays they have 13 flights, Saturdays, there are 22, and on Sunday's there are 12. She notes that they are constant and close together.

She says that when the expansion of the departure hall and processing area is completed by the Airport Management on 24th April, Immigration will get more booths at the departure section, and they have approval to recruit and train staff to be ready for this date.

She says they are unaware of any workers dissatisfaction or go slow effort.
