Belgian Chocolates are some of the most well loved and sought after brands in the world, and now they're being encouraged to use Belizean cacao. A government release reports that Belize's Embassy in Brussels led by European Union Ambassador Dylan Vernon hosted a promotional event to generate interest in Belize's high-quality cacao beans and encouraging investments in that sector.
Vernon made a presentation on the industry's history, capacity, and potential to some of Belgium's prominent chocolatiers.
They also showcased a variety of Belizean produced cacao-based products including chocolate bars, cocoa powder, cocoa tea, and liqueurs.
The release reports that "one concrete follow-up activity from the event will be an exploratory investment mission from Belgium to Belize in 2017."
