Three Teens To Court For Jacking Tanya Carter, They “Needed Gas Money”

Its 2 teenagers and a 19 year old who held up and robbed Tanya Carter at gunpoint and today in court, they all pleaded guilty.  Magistrate Carlon Mendoza called it “one of the worst and most disturbing forms of robbery he had ever heard of.â€￾  When he asked them why they did it, the 19 year old Darwin Monroy told the court, quote, “This is my first offense and I only needed money for gas.â€￾ Now as we told you last night, after the teenagers jacked Carter, their runaway car ran out of gas not too far away.  But the Magistrate had no sympathy for them and said it’s no excuse to rob and terrorize anyone.  He remanded the trio and said that they need to think about their action while he decides what sentence to pass upon them.  The two minors went to the warner’s Youth Facility, while Monroy went to the Central Prison. Â They will be sentenced next Friday - so they get to reflect on their actions for 9 nights in jail.  

The robbery happened on Monday night when Carter and her friend were walking along St. Thomas Street. They were heading to Pandora’s for ice-cream when four men came up from behind her and demanded that she give up her bag of else they would shoot her.

Carter resisted, but when it appeared that he assailant was reaching for something, she handed over the bag.  Inside the bag she had personal items including her passport, credit card, social security card, house keys, along with fifteen $100 dollar notes, and other items, all to a total of $2,045.00.

Last night, Carter posted on her Facebook, quote, “I’m ok but nothing doesn't change the fact that I was robbed and my life was threatened…scariest moment of my life,â€￾ end quote.
