Drunk, No Insurance, No License Driver Crashed Into Cop Truck In Front of Police Station
posted (June 2, 2017)
Today, this picture of a banged up police pickup truck, mashed into a lamp-post in front of the San Ignacio police station started circulating on social media - and many probably just shook their heads, wearily concluding,"there they go again - destroying police property." But there are two sides to a story and the story of how that truck ended up smashed into the lamp-post, started this morning at two minutes past midnight. This security video shows a Chevy Silverado pick up barreling around the corner at Columbus Park. It rammed headlong into the police F-150 pickup that was parked in front of the police station - sending it crashing into the lamp-post. From there the Silverado turned into the street where the driver and the passengers got out and ran, and left the truck rolling - as it crashed directly into the fuel pump at the adjacent Shell gas station.

But while the pickup truck stayed parked there, police had to set chase on foot to find the driver. They caught him and at this hour are preparing charges for five offenses: Drove motor vehicle without due care and attention,Failed to produce a driver's license, drove unlicensed motor vehicle , Drove motor vehicle with alcohol concentration about the prescribed limit and Drove motor vehicle not covered by third party risk insurance.

So, to go over it, the driver was drunk, had no license and the truck had no license or insurance - can't be more outlaw than that!

Both the police pickup and the Silverado were extensively damaged.
