The Many Denials Of Saldivar’s Actions
posted (June 2, 2017)
We all know well the Bible story which tells us that the Apostle Peter denied three times that he knew Jesus after the crucifixion. Well, it's not been quite that for Defence Minister John Saldivar - but something slightly similar happened over the past week when we interviewed four of his Cabinet colleagues - who didn't quite deny him, but said that they wouldn't do what he did. And by that we mean, they wouldn't have used government assets, for transporting a sports team they personally owned.

It started with Police Minister Elodio Aragon on Monday:...

Hon. Elodio Aragon, Min. Of State - Home Affairs
"Under my watch we will ensure that such abuses do not hamper the police department."

Jules Vasquez, 7News
"It should not happen?"

Hon. Elodio Aragon, Min. Of State - Home Affairs
"Of course it should not happen."

Hon. Patrick Faber
"If you want me to say if it were me, I would have done things differently, I probably would have."

Hon. Anthony Martinez
"I would have find it difficult to do it."

Rt. Hon. Dean Barrow, Prime Minister
"I wouldn't have done it."

And though the Basketball Bandits are in the weekend's Elite Basketball finals which will be played in San Pedro, the Prime Minister has said Saldivar will not use the Cost Guard's vessels to get his team there.

The game will tip off at 9:00 p.m. between Belmopan Bandits and San Pedro Tiger Sharks.
