As we told you last night, the man who allegedly killed Andrew Bennett, known to most as the popular DJ "Hard Rock", is in jail tonight. David Richard Arnold was arraigned yesterday and remanded.
It took three weeks for police to track down this alleged killer, and ACP Chester Williams told us more about his arrest today...

"As you may have remembered in previous interviews we have said that we knew who the suspect was in respect to the murder of Hard Rock and that individual we were looking for, David Arnold, was apprehended in the Belmopan area and was transported to us here in Belize City. We did our investigation further into the incident and yesterday we were able to formally arrested and charged David Arnold for the crime of murder in respect to the shooting death of Hard Rock."

"Would you be at liberty at this time to expound on a motive perhaps?"

"Establishing a motive in respect to that incident is still a bit difficult. We are hearing different reasons, so I would not want to speculate. So I'll leave it at that."

"Is Arnold a resident of Belmopan or was he hiding out there?"
ACP Chester Williams - OC, Eastern South Division
"He is basically from Belize City, but apparently was working in Belmopan. From our investigation he came down that weekend when Hard Rock was killed, did the murder and went back to Belmopan. So he was comfortable in Belmopan when he was caught by the police."
Arnold re-appears in court in August.
