"As far as I know its only Dion Leslie who has put in his application so far and I heard rumors that Councilor Willoughby will also put it in, but I don't know that he has put it in. I am not able to confirm that he has."

"We know that the last time it came down to Mayor Bradley there was a good amount of drama with him going back and forth hemming and hawing in his decision making and the party ended up taking it, because you all said well he is a good mayor and he will be re-elected. Will you all extend deadlines for Mayor Bradley?"

"You're right. I think that Mayor Bradley is the desirable candidate for us given that we believe that the people of this city believe in his leadership. He has done well at the job. But you're right, the mayor has a tendency to be difficult. Says one thing and then in terms of putting his name in especially. I have hear that he has reconsidering whether he will put it in or not. But these decisions, moving deadlines to accommodate people and so on we don't normally do, but should we feel that it is in the best interest of the party that decision will be made jointly by the members of our central executive committee. It is not a one man show in our party as you may know and so we will look at it to see if that is the case, but it not our inclination right off to move deadlines, because of course we want to be fighting."
Originally we had reported that the deadline for the submission of names was last week Friday - which is what a UDP councillor told us - but the Deputy is now saying that the deadline is next week Friday.
