General Explains Tear Gas Mixup
posted (September 4, 2017)
The police are not the only ones who came forward apologies for the unexpected release of tear gas. BDF Commander, General David Jones told us more about what went wrong, and what may have caused it:

David Jones, Commander of BDF
"First of all I would like to publicly apologize to the public for what transpired during the military tattoo. When the smoke was getting into the audience, my first reaction was this was horrible. It was shock, we did not expect it and we sincerely apologize for it. However, the item that the police use to fire on that particular night were the factory made canisters that were sold to the police department. There are rare occurrences that even from the factory there are errors and it appears at this point that there was an error from the factory that manufactured the canisters, so the police did indeed fire what they knew and expected to be smoke. So they fired the correct canister but there was some error not from the police department that caused the CS to be emitted out to the public."

"We have taken the projectiles that were fired from the cartridges and we are going to ask the forensic department to give us that final conclusion that says yes the chemical component that is in the canisters was indeed present in the canisters that were fired."

"We need to cease all use of that explosive material or ammunition. Police are not supposed to be using any of that until we confirmed what has happened. What we will ask them to do is fire a few of them so we can confirm if they are all smoke or if there are the presence of CS in some of the munitions that they will ask the police to do that sometime this week."

"Whoever the police would have purchased these ammunitions from. They will need to send a report explaining what transpired to see if they can get some answers from the company who manufactured those munitions that were sold to the police department."

Jones said the media and public will be informed more on the incident when all forensic tests are completed.
