Cayo Men Claim Police Brutality
posted (December 4, 2017)
And while the police top brass was talking about fingerprints, Cayo residents were complaining to us about bruise marks - inflicted by police.

A group of friends are still recovering from that police beat down in San Ignacio. Kennedy Gentle and his friends were hanging out in front of Blue Angels Club early Saturday morning when, according to them, 5 police officers roughed them up for no reason. They were simply coming off their night out. Here is their account.

But it didn't end there, we spoke to a woman who claims that police attacked her and confiscated her phone for videoing the alleged beat down in front of Blue Angels. She says a male officer choked her while a female officer punched her.

The woman was released with no charges but as you heard, the videos were deleted from her phone. As for the men, they were charged for assaulting an officer and wounding. We will follow up with police on this case. We have received reports as well that two police officers - including a very senior one - were punched in the face by some men in Blue Angels nightclub over the weekend. Police did not want to comment on it today at the bi-weekly press briefing.
