City Family Claims Arson

An Iguana street home went up in flames last night at around 8:00. The owner, Lisa Loriano believes it was arson.

She left her home in the care of her sister after moving to Placencia. Now, they believe someone in the community is targeting Loriano. We spoke to one of Loriano's neighbors and her sister.

"All that I could have seen was just house in flames and I hollered Oh my God and I contact my granny because my granny raised her so we raised together so I know her very good."

"When I come home from work last night I get a call from my mom saying that the house is on fire."

"All of my stuff that I just moved from here and took over there all of that just went like nothing, check."

"So you lost everything?"

Kimberly Hendricks, Sister
"Yes ma'am down to everything right now."

"And you believe that somebody intentionally lit the house on fire?"

Kimberly Hendricks, Sister
"She told me like a week ago or some time ago somebody broke into her house and took her TV and laptop and she made a complaint at the station but she doesn't know if it's the same person that went back there."

"She say they also threatened her and said they would have burnt down her house?"

Kimberly Hendricks, Sister
"She say that at the moment they told her they would have burnt down the house with her in it, you understand so I Just thank God we were not in there actually when it happen or we were asleep."

According Hendricks, she lost about $15,000 worth of belongings. If you would like to assist this family you can call 631 - 4548. The fire department has not yet released an official statement.
