A 3 year old boy died in a traffic accident on the Southern Highway early this morning. It happened before dawn when 34 year old Tourist Police Officer Jose Oscar Sanchez Jr. had his whole family in his Isuzu Rodeo. They were heading from San Pedro Colombia to his work station at Hopkins Village. But, something went very wrong near Bladen Village where he ran off the road and flipped in a ditch. The Officer Commanding Toledo told us that's where his young son was killed:

"We have found a red Isuzu Rodeo turned upside down on the left hand side of the road, was travelling towards Bella Vista Village. Initial police investigation revealed that the driver who is Jose Sanchez, 34 years old police officer was traveling towards Hopkins Village along with his family, his wife and 3 kids and apparently he dozed off, lost control of the vehicle and went into a ditch. Apparently the vehicle overturned. As a result a 3 year old minor lost his life. The other 2 minors, both girls complained of pain to the back."

"With any accident it is protocol for NIP to be served. The file will be complied and sent to the DPP office for their directives."
Sanchez's wife Diana Pop received no injury.
