As we told you last night, Cayo resident 34 year old Israel Chuc was murdered â€" he was strangled to death. Chuc’s body was found near what is known as the “Hammockâ€￾ bridge leading to Branch Mouth on Sunday morning. Today we spoke to Chuc’s brother as they were getting ready for his funeral service. He told us all he and his family wants is justice.

“I never expected this in my family. It’s the first time we are experiencing this in my family. I never expected that they would kill my brother like this. When police told me that he was killed I wasn’t satisfied so I did the best for my brother and went to Belize City yesterday for the post-mortem and I saw he was murdered; that’s what the doctor told me.â€￾

“First they said it was natural causes. Then afterward you found out he was murdered?â€￾

“That’s right. So I was only satisfied after the doctor told me. So from my part and my family, we need justice. I don’t want any other family to experience what we are experiencing right now, close to Christmas and everything. We never expected this to happen. We were just hoping to enjoy the holiday together but my brother didn’t make.â€￾

“He didn’t have any problems with anybody or anything?â€￾

“Not as far as I know because I wasn’t behind him every time.â€￾

Chuc had no kids. He was known as a heavy drinker but his brother says he didn’t know him to get into any problems due to his drinking.
