And, the Belize National Teachers Union also had something to say about Desmond Lewis - who was a teacher and union member.
The statement condemns what it calls "a vicious murder" - and alludes to his lifestyle, saying, quote, "(it) is not only unfortunate, but it speaks to the level of intolerance of some of our people." The statement calls him a "hard working, dedicated, appreciated and respected" member of society. They conclude, quote, "We have lost a loyal soldier. Enough is enough. Lives must be respected," end quote.
The union is appealing for the public to share any information they have on the murder in. They also acknowledged the death of Fareed Ahmad who, quote, "has bene contributing positively to our society, and particularly to young people," end quote.
