Police have charged one of two men who were caught on camera trying to pull off an armed robbery. It happened at Joe's Store in the King's Park area on December 23, 2017. The video went viral when the storeowner grabbed his own gun and chased off the two robbers. The gunman got so scared he dropped his gun. Well, that same footage has led police to charge one of the robbers.
Today 21 year old Stanley Flowers was charged with attempted robbery with a firearm, and kept firearm and ammunition without a gun license. Flowers, an unemployed of Mahogany Heights was arraigned at 11:00 this morning in the Belize City Magistrate's Court where he appeared unrepresented before Senior Magistrate, Aretha Ford.
Flowers pleaded not guilty to both charges and was remanded into custody until April 3, 2018.
Police say they do know the identity of their other suspect who remains at large.
