PM Not Convinced On Ahmad Family Threat Messages, Waits For Investigators Findings
posted (January 5, 2018)
Tonight there are still nagging questions about those threatening text messages allegedly targeting the family of murder victim, Fareed Ahmad.

They were allegedly sent by a police officer - and discuss what is basically a state sponsored "hitlist" - where police officers are to systematically kill members of the Ahmad family.

Tonight, no one can say for sure whether it is real or not. The Prime Minister today told the press that he is confident the investigator will get to the bottom of it:...

Rt. Hon. Dean Barrow, Prime Minister
"Yes I have seen some text messages, the authenticity of which is being questioned. I spoke personally to Chester Williams who is in charge of the investigation and he was very concerned about the text messages. He was certainly determined to get to the bottom of that issue. Just today he provided me with examples of the apps that can be used to create fake text messages. In his view, really until we are able to get some sort of court order, that would allow an examination of the relevant telephone records. He has to suspend judgement. Chester is no doubt in my mind, absolutely determined to do a comprehensive investigation. He's determined for there not to be any slip ups. He's determined not to cover over anything."
