posted (January 5, 2018)
2 days ago, we told you how Corozal cops charged 22 year-old Demas Zelaya for the armed robbery at One Mall Gas Station in Ranchito Village. Well tonight, he is out on bail.

His attorney, Ronell Gonzalez, made an application on his behalf before Justice Antoinette Moore, and after the judge heard his grounds and the response of Crown Counsel Jackie Willoughby, she decided to grant him bail of $10,000. It came with the conditions that he reports to the Mahogany Street Police Station every Friday, that he attends all hearings and adjournments of his case at the Corozal Magistrate's Court until the matter is concluded, and he must not interfere with the prosecution's witnesses and the virtual complainants.

As we told you, 4 men carried out an armed robbery of One Mall on December 22. Three of the culprits held up the female storeowner inside, and another brought her watch-man inside at gunpoint. They then managed to get into the office, and they ordered the store-owner's husband to open the safe. She handed over the key, and they cleaned out the safe of $,7,000 in cash. They then stole a cellular phone, and the owner's 2014 Toyota Tacoma Pickup, which they used to escape. The total value of the that the storeowners lost was around 50 thousand dollars.
