CJ And The Judgement Timeline
posted (January 8, 2018)
So, what about those 29 judgments that the Chief Justice was expected to deliver on a timeline he agreed on with the Bar Association? The Bar was prepared to call for his resignation from office, but - as a compromise - both sides agreed on a timeline where he would deliver judgments in bulk.

Well, we are told that he has delivered 25 of those judgments so far - which is not exactly to the agreed upon schedule, but its getting there. The press asked the Attorney General about that:

Hon. Michael Peyrefitte - Attorney General
"He's off the leave, and he was supposed to complete a certain amount of judgments. He indicated to me, as well as his assistant indicated to me that he should have completed most, if not all of them by now. But, naturally, whatever he didn't finish, if he didn't finish, he would just have to finish it in the year. He would just have to ensure that he finds the time, and he has committed to finding the time. He knows that this is his fault. He is not making an excuses, but the work has to be done. He has been doing the work. He has kept me up-to-date with all the judgments he has completed, and so, I expect that by the middle of this year we should be fully onboard, and fully updated with everything."
