LGBTI Activist Distances himself From Bullett Craig
posted (January 9, 2018)
And while Roy Craig raves - Caleb Orozco says don't put him anywhere near this case. Tonight, the LGBTI Activist isn't happy with Channel 7 because we said Bullitt Craig was his stepfather. We were basing this on a relationship Orozco's mother had with Craig, but Caleb says he has no relationship with Craig and will not advocate on his behalf, or defend his actions in any way:...

Caleb Orozco, Exec. Dir. - UNIBAM
"Professionally and personally I do not support. A relationship where there is more power on one side over the next. One. Second, being my mom relationship with Roy Craig has nothing to do with me. He was my mom companion and nothing more. Third aspect of this, is that people must need to understand that persons who experience or have, people who have individuals young individuals who have intellectual disabilities are seven times at higher risk of experiencing sexual assault. And as such, they can't give consent when their intellectual level is so low. In that regard, the issues around Roy Craig seems to highlight or attack my reputation as an individual and my organization reputation and its work."

"It makes no sense to sensationalize a case linking it to other issues where there is no connection and so all I ask any media house is be responsible in the way they report very delicate intimacy issues which have strong power dynamics, or in this case, which have strong imbalances of power. And report it in a way that is constructive not sensational."

"We may look at this issue as a joke or blaming the other persons with intellectual disability, but at the end of the day we have not solved a fundamental problem. We're perpetuating incendiary language misrepresenting facts time and time again to divide our country, and divide our people on issues."

Sahar Vasquez, reporter
"And just to confirm one more time: you and Mr. Craig had no relationship."

Caleb Orozco, Exec. Dir. - UNIBAM
"Craig was not my stepfather he gave me nothing, he did not raise me in anyway, he was simply my mother's companion and we helped her to move out and walk away."

Orozco's attorney Leslie Mendez sent us a letter today stressing that Mr. Orozco and UNIBAM "have been and continue to be to be staunch advocates for rights of all children in Belize." She adds, quote, "he has been at the forefront of the fight against all forms of child abuse." end quote.

On this count, we surely do apologize to Orozco, our intention was never to suggest that he would support child abuse or pederasty in any form. We know that is not, and could never be the case. We apologize for the inference.
