And that same Can Street was the scene of a shooting on Friday night. Friday night in Belize City started off with a shooting on Cran Street. The victim was Kareem Williams. His injuries were not fatal but he did end up in hospital. The police gave more details.

"Police visited the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where they observed a male person by the name of Kareem Williams with a gunshot injury to the right leg. He was treated on that same night and discharged from the hospital. Initial information that the police has gathered so far is that Mr. Williams was walking on Cran Street when he was approached by a male person who fired several shots at him causing the above-mentioned injuries. That case is still under investigation and police is looking for one male person to question."
The motive is still unclear. Police continue to investigate.
