Police Still Cannot Find Andy Rhaburn
posted (January 18, 2018)

And moving now to the most recent murder in Orange Walk, Andy Rhaburn is still at large.  He’s the 26 year old Carmelita resident accused of killing his mother 53 year old Braulia Pech.  He bludgeoned her to death with a crowbar and fled into the bushes.

It’s a difficult case, because Rhaburn - who lived alone with his mother - had a history of giving his mother trouble.  She called the police many times for them to take him away.  But, no official complaint was made.  The head of the National Crimes Investigation Branch told us more today:

ACP Joseph Myvett - National CIB
"I believe police may have had to visit the residence on several other occasions but there was no official report that was launched."

Reporter
"Was there a case where he burnt his mom's house down?"

ACP Joseph Myvett
"I am not sure I will have to get back to you on that but I am certain that there was some report received that there was an attempt. I do not know that the house was burnt down."

Reporter
"Any idea his whereabouts like where he might have fled?"

ACP Joseph Myvett
"No, I know that there was some information this morning which the police were following up in regard to where he may be however that was fruitless."

Reporter
"Should he be considered armed and dangerous?"

ACP Joseph Myvett
"I do not know that he would be considered armed just to be with the crowbar but I know that some care must be exercised whenever he is seen."

Jules Vasquez
"If there is a history of the cops being called out again its mother son so often times no report will be made but is there some sort of duty for someone to try to say it is a dangerous situation; relatively older women with a strapping young man who is unstable?"

ACP Joseph Myvett
"There has been instances of this nature before and the police have assisted in most that I know about that the police does assist indeed in these investigations. Assist in taking these persons to the hospital for medication.â€￾

Andy Rhaburn remains at large.  He is considered dangerous.  anyone seeing him is asked to call police or 0-800-922-TIPS.
