Cotton Tree Family Wants Answers
posted (February 7, 2018)
Husband and wife Oscar Alvarado and Linda Hernandez were knocked off their motorcycle and killed on Christmas Eve night in Cotton Tree. They were heading to their San Martin home in Belmopan when a vehicle rear ended them. As we have reported, 25 year-old Cotton Tree resident Hector Armando Monterroso has been charged in this case. But the family says there's another element that the police hasn't addressed.

Alvarado's father told us that based on the information he has gotten, he believes police accidentally drove over Hernandez with the police truck as they arrived on the scene after the accident.

The family believes that Linda Hernandez was already in bad shape after the accident but the family is saying that it is the second hit with the police truck that finished her off. Now the family wants answers and they say the police are not helping them. Here is more.

Robert Moralez, Father of Oscar Alvarado
"I went to check every time to try to talk to the police, the big boss for the police. He don't want to talk to me. I wanted to ask him about the case. Everyone told me that the police car knock the lady again and he killed the lady. After the accident, the police drove away and knock the lady again. This the case and the police is not answering my question."

When we asked Belmopan police about this case they told us that no family member has contacted them and that based on surveillance video footage of the area - no police vehicle was involved in the accident - or any secondary accident. They add that there is no police vehicle with any damages. The couple left behind 4 kids.
