There was a shooting just a short while ago around the corner from our studio. It happened on East Canal, in front of the hotspot known as Wax House. Our team is on the scene and we have confirmed that one person was shot and rushed to the hospital. More on this later.
Also, this evening at about 5:00 pm - there was an armed robbery attempt at the Golden Bay store on Marine Parade. Reports say that a lone gunman tried to enter the store at closing time - but he ran into the store's very heavy security detail and had to beat a hasty retreat, after firing a shot. No one was harmed, and the man escaped in a waiting van. Police were on the scene of both shootings immediately after.
