False Killer Whales No Direction Home
posted (March 2, 2018)
False Killer Whales are the third largest dolphins in existence and a pod of them were recently seen in Belizean Waters. It is a major concern because the marine mammals need to be guided back into deeper water.

They were first spotted on the 19th of February just south of Stake Bank Caye and last seen on the 26th of February south of Foreman Caye. Search parties continue to look for the pod but have had no luck. If you have seen the whales please contact the Fisheries Department at 224-4552 or Seashore Alliance at 615- 3838.

Seashore Alliance also advises that people not interact with the dolphins if seen as they are wild mammals. Boat drivers are also asked to be vigilant while driving especially near the areas they were seen.
