The Slaughter of The Innocents Continues: 4 Year Old Boy Murdered
posted (March 6, 2018)
12 year old David Morrison was murdered two weeks ago; 1 year old Gregor Mena was shot in the toes on Wednesday night, 1 year old Alyssa Nunez died on Sunday, and last night, the victimization of the innocents continued with the murder of 4 year old Treshawn Goff.

At the end of last night's news we told you he had been gravely injured. Well, he died just before 7:00 this morning.

As we found out today, he was playing in his grandfather's yard when death came for him. Sahar Vasquez reports on the loss of a precious little life:...

Sahar Vasquez reporting
Last night the joyful sounds of children playing were muted by the deafening ring of gunshots. Treshawn Goff had just finished eating a meal his doting grandfather had made for him when he went outside to play with his cousins and keep grandpa company before bedtime. But the four-year-old never made it to bed.

"He said mom I am going across the street to eat at grandpa. I told him to come and bathe but he said I am going across to go and eat. I told him to go ahead when you come back. When he finished eating my father in law was outside fixing his vehicle. All of them were outside playing in the yard so he said he is going across."

Treshawn instinctively ducked down behind an old car in the yard when he heard the shots. But upon seeing his loved ones running onto the street the innocent boy decided to do the same and that is when a bullet pierced his tiny head.

"He got up and that is when one of the bullets just flew off of the car and hit him. I was sitting down inside my house writing a party list for his birthday in June not knowing this would happen."

In a state of shock this morning, his family huddled around Treyshawn's devastated mom to comfort her. Sutherland says the one thing she tried so hard to avoid came in last night and ruined her life in the blink of an eye.

"We are a family that keeps to ourselves. I and my boyfriend just go from work to home. We don't even go anywhere for the same reason."

"They just come and want to hurt you for nothing so I said it is better than we get hurt in our yard not knowing that it would really happen."

Those closest to Treshawn all shared the same sentiments about the young boy. He was a ball of beaming energy with a luminous future ahead of him.

"The trouble that he gave it was not that bad mischievous trouble. He did it in such a sweet way that you don't even want to lash him when you are done. He was just so friendly with everyone. Everywhere he went he was just so happy. Always smiling. His sister and he were two five. You could not get between those two."

Geovanni Brackett, Uncle of Deceased
"This kid had a bright future. He was very smart, very intelligent. You know I never tell my sister this but in my heart I had so many plans for him and when I looked at him I saw myself when I was a kid."

"Yesterday he came in and he was running in and hugging me. While he was hugging me he said teacher I missed you and I was praying that you were ok and that is my last memory of him."

Treshawn was robbed of a life that had so much more to give. His family is now left with the sweet sound of his voice echoing in their minds and a kaleidoscope of happy memories that ended all too soon.

Baby Treshawn was supposed to perform at this week's Festival of the Arts as part of child stimulation month. He would have been 5 in June. There are no funeral plans yet. Family tells us that one of little Treyshaun's last acts was taking his little sister Chloe over to his mother's house - and cautioned her not to send her back on the street.
