PUP Leader Asks “What The Hell?”
posted (March 6, 2018)
And with today's shocking death, Opposition Leader John Briceno felt pressed to speak on the murder. Yes it is a day before election, but he says the killing of another child suggests a dangerous tipping point:..

Hon. John Briceno, Leader of the Opposition
"The violence and despicable attack even against our innocent children is symptomatic of moral decay occurring all across our nation. I think that we as a people must take stock as to where we are, as parents, as family members, neighbors, community leaders, churches, everyone. This is something that we need to address very quickly. We need to show not only empathy and sympathy and concern for the family, but we also have to show some sort of outrage. How can this be happening in our country in such a small society where everyone knows one another."

"Are you risking by having a press conference, I believe you're third in a week. Are you risking being called out for opportunism?"

Hon. John Briceno, Leader of the Opposition
"This is the first press conference I'm having for this week and today is Tuesday, but more importantly, I think to me it is more important for us to speak out about issues that are really affecting our society and to risk being called for political opportunism. This is a serious matter and if we can't come together as leaders and as society then we're dammed."

Briceno also spoke about politics - and we'll have those remarks later.
