The National Aids Commission wants all Belizeans to know their HIV status, and so, they set up testing booths in public parks at several major population centers around the country today.
Their focus this year was men - because the male population tends to avoid HIV testing.
So they sent out the message far and wide and made the process quick, easy and free.

"Today is the second annual national testing day countrywide, and we are out here doing free HIV testing for anyone who wants to know their status. Statistics have shown that males are not willing to come out and get tested. So, this year, we're focusing more on the male population, and our theme this year is "Leave No Man Behind". We're doing a raffle surrounding our event. So, for any male person who gets tested, they will get a raffle ticket for a chance to win a prize. It's Samsung J6 from Digicell. We have male grooming kits from Courts, and gift certificates from Chukka. So, that's our goal really."
"Our goal is just to bring out as many people as possible, and get them to know their status."
"We're hoping to have a high turnout. We've been marketing the event for a couple weeks now, especially on social media. We've done radio advertisement. We have many other sponsors onboard this year."
Apart from Battlefield Park in Belize City, the Commission had these testing booths in all major towns and Belmopan.
