Dr Manza Stays Onboard At MOH
posted (January 19, 2022)
That was just 5 weeks ago, but in a whiplash inducing reversal, the PM now seems to think he'll do much better in his new post since it's a lot less work. Here's what he said about Dr Manza today:

Hon. John Briceno, Prime Minister
"I think you have heard what Minister Bernard said that he has met with Dr. Manzanero and offered him to stay if he wishes to work with him under his leadership. I believe and I said that this morning and I repeat that I do think that there are certain skills that Dr. Manzanero has, I just don't think that he was the right person for the DHS position, but where they want to put him, I think its something to do with cooperation and some other work. It is a position that was already offered to him from early on in our administration and for one reason or the other they could not see eye to eye with the former minister. Kevin believes that he can work with him and have him become a part of his team and if that is the wishes of the minister, then I am going to support it."

"This is one of the 3 top positions that replace the DHS, but you yourself called Dr. Manza a disaster..."

Hon. John Briceno, Prime Minister
"Come on, don't twist words around. That position has been broken up into 3 positions. So now at one time the DHS had to do all of that. Now, we broken up into 3, because it is really a gigantic task. The ministry has grown so much over the years and so its very difficult for just one person to do that. That was a part of Plan Belize where we wanted to break up that position and so now one of those positions is being offered to Dr. Manzanero which is different than him having everything. Thats a major difference."
