And we also asked the Director of Tourism about the sargassum crisis. Yesterday you heard the PM say that it was an issue he brought up with the World Bank while in Thailand. Today Tillet explained that it's a work in progress to find a solution.

"Sargassum is a issue that's not only plaguing Belize, but it's plaguing the entire region. Um, we have a plan, um, in terms of the equipment that we have done extensive research on."
"And what we aim to do is to de-risk it to the industry because the industry, the private sector, they are spending money into sargassum mitigation, but a lot of the times they tend to use the wrong equipment."
"So we have now identified a system and a, a list of equipment, um, that will definitely help against the fight in sargassum. There's no silver bullet for sargassum."
"Um, it has to be a collaboration between the government and the private sector, uh, for us to, to, to mitigate the, the, the threats of sargassum."
"There are, um, plans, um, in the destinations and the BTB over the years, we have put in monies in the municipalities, um, to address sargassum."
