It is Youth Week and activities kicked off yesterday with an ecumenical service followed by opening ceremony in Belize City. The keynote speaker was Minister of Youth Marcel Cardona who challenged the youths.

“The solution once again lies within you. The solution is simple: the conscious choice that you have to make as to whether you want to be agents of positivity or agents of negativity in society. My friends it therefore gives me great pleasure of officially declaring National Youth Week 2008 under this year’s theme: ‘Youth Proud and Free, the Foundation of our Society Empowered through full participation.’”

A Heal Belize Youth March followed the opening ceremony. Other activities lined up for the week are radio talk show appearances, various workshops and youth forums.
