Joshua Arana Case Being Looked Into
Tue, June 8, 2010
Last night on this newscast you saw Garifuna drummer Joshua Arana passionately complain about being abused by police. Arana was picked up - and because police thought he was, quote, "acting smart" - they charged him for obstruction. Arana was bundled up as part of the criminal chain gang before he got bail of a thousand dollars.

Today the man in charge of Operation Jaguar - whose operatives may have been the ones who arrested Arana said he takes the complaint seriously.

ACP Elodio Aragon - In Charge Operation Jaguar
"I am not aware that any official report has been made, but definitely I have tasked Internal Affairs Division to look into the matter seriously because the last thing we would want to do with this operation is to lose the confidence of the general public and as such we will not tolerate any of our jaguar personnel to be out there losing that confidence. There is a lot to be done and definitely we cannot achieve what we want to achieve by having such incidents."

Aragon said that when he checked yesterday there was no complaint at the Internal Affairs Department.
