Five Got Off Murder
Tue, June 15, 2010
On October 5, 2009, 20 year old Randy Coye was found dead in the Lord's Ridge Cemetery; he had been brutally slain, shot multiple times to the head, neck, chest and back.

Five men were charged: 27 year old Edwin "Drive" Flowers, 20 year old Kenroy Humes, 23 year old Brandon Smith, 23 year old Deshawn Mena and 21 year old Leon Gray.

Flowers was charged with conspiracy to commit murder and abetment to murder. All the rest were charged with conspiracy and murder.

Police said it was a conspiracy to settle a gang related score, but today in Magistrate's court Attorney Dickie Bradley made a no case submission for Flowers and Smith. It was upheld by the Chief Magistrate Margaret McKenzie, who struck out the charges against the pair. The other three didn't even need a lawyer to get off. Chief Magistrate Margaret McKenzie struck out the charges against them because no case file was available and the case was not finalized for a preliminary investigation.
