An initial assessment by NEMO shows that 890 households were damaged by Hurricane Richard in the Belize, Cayo and Stann Creek districts.
187 of those were severely damaged or destroyed and 570 suffered damages to their roof and wall structures.
That is just the finding of an initial assessment - and the actual figures are likely much higher.
NEMO also reports that the total damages in all sectors as of October 27th are estimated at 70 million Belize dollars. Again, that is just an initial figure.
