| Wil Maheia’s Dramatic Gesture At Southern Border |

You may remember the name Lionel Arrelanos - he's the Guatemalan who literally caused an international incident when he put a container in Belize territory in late 2008. He did it right across from Jalacte near to the Guatemalan village of Snata Cruz.
It was eventually blown up by the BDF - but Arrellanos has since re-claimed the spot - which, again, is within Belizena territory.
And so, this weekend in southern Belize arch-nationalist Wil Maheia organized a dramatic event to underscore the fact that it is in Belize.
A release from Maheia says that The Peoples National Party made a trip to the border to raise a Belize Flag in honour of our Independence.
He claims that while putting up the flag one of the Belize Police tried to stop the group from doing so.
