Thu, November 17, 2011
Septic Tanks don't usually make the news - and you can understand why. But one Mexican company says there's a better way to dispose of human waste. SEPTI-K, a company from Merida, is hoping to market what it calls a biodigester tanks, particularly in rural areas of Belize - where there are no sewage systems.

Unlike the cement septic tanks which are built flat on the ground, these tanks stand upright - and the designers say easy do it yourself maintenance is the key to their product:..

Jose Rogelio Perez Monsrreal, Director, Septi.K
"You can clean the equipment; you don't need to run pipes you don't need to have bad odors. You don't need to put the water in another place, and you don't need to pay for that, and the quality of the digester slough have no bad odor, don't bring mice's or other animals, because this is a digestive slough."

The product is not yet available for sale in Belize.
