New Pope Is Argentinean Cardinal
Wed, March 13, 2013
Tonight, the catholic faith has its first Jesuit Pope. He is Argentinian Cardinal, Jorge Mario Bergoglio, and he will be called Francis, the 266th pontiff of the Roman Catholic Church.

The announcement came early this afternoon - which is evening in Rome - when a puff of white smoke streamed form the chimney of the Sistine Chapel to the cheers Plaza.

76 year old Pope Francis is the first South American to lead the church and the first non-European pope in more than 1,200 years.
