Five Years After Moving In to Present Digs, BTB Needs New HQ
Mon, June 10, 2013
The Belize Tourism Board will soon be on the move. 7news has confirmed that the BTB is in the final stages of negotiations to buy a new building which will serve as its headquarters. It has outgrown its present location at the corner of South and Regent Streets only five years after it moved there in 2008. Presently, the BTB has been forced to rent space for as many as 20 staffers in an adjoining building on Regent Street.

And, now for its new location, best information suggests it will purchase another adjoining structure, the Espat building which is three lots south on Regent Street. We are told negotiations are well underway – and the move is expected shortly. The BTB Board reportedly looked at 9 buildings before choosing the Espat structure.

When it moves, the Ministry of Tourism along with related projects will move into its present headquarters..
