Gambis Gets Off
Wed, June 12, 2013
Keon "Gambis" Williams is free of charges tonight after he was acquitted today before Justice Adolph Lucas. Over 3 years ago, it was alleged that he had molested a 14 year-old primary school student.

According to police, the boy reported that in November of 2009, he was at the BTL Park when he was approached by Williams, who allegedly sodomized him. The boy continued that on a second occasion, Williams held him against his will at an abandoned building near the Foreshore area, but a bystander rescued him before Williams could assault him.

As a result, Williams was charged with committing an unnatural crime, and aggravated assault. He was forced to await trial, which came up finally, and when the boy, who is now 17, took the stand, he recanted his written statement to police.

He said that nothing like this happened, and that he told his mother this much. When he was asked about his statement, he suggested that he didn't freely give it. He went even further and told the court that he wanted to drop the charges. Because there was no evidence against Williams, Justice Lucas directed the jury of 9 to acquit him, setting him free.
