Biscayne Gov’t School Burgled...Again
Tue, March 18, 2014
Tonight, the management and staff of Biscayne Government School, is trying to figure out how they will be able to replace 7,000 dollars in electronic equipment which was stolen from them.

The school was locked up tight last night, but when the teachers reported for work this morning, they found that one of the classrooms had been broken into, and 4 of their laptop computers were stolen along with other important pieces of equipment. 7News spoke with one of the teachers about what they found this morning:

Eugene Contreras, teacher - Biscayne Government School
"While the bus was passing, I saw the door and I immediately I said oh they broke into my classroom and that was really bad feeling because I know I had lots of stuff in there and right away I thought computers missing. First of all I saw the stereo set was missing, the projector that we used almost was missing. When I checked around I found out that 4 of our laptops are missing; 3 Dell laptops and one Lenovo. One of them recently has important information that we worked on Friday. Definitely some of the teachers are going to be impacted as well as the children because we make use of the projector first of all for a lot of our lessons and then for expressive arts we have a dance group that is working very hard for festival of arts for this year and they stole the stereo, so that group will definitely be impacted."

The teachers believe that due to the way that the burglary happened, the suspicion is that the culprits must be from the village.
