Polyclinic Admin. Sabal Fired Based On Audit Findings
Tue, September 16, 2014
The Administrator at the Dangriga Polyclinic Harry Sabal has been fired. He was placed on suspension one month ago and he received his letter of termination on Friday, September 12th by hand delivery.

Today CEO Peter Allen told us that Sabal is a contract officer and the Solicitor General reviewed a copy of a report on the polyclinic from the Auditor General's Office. Based on the allegations of misconduct made in that report the Solicitor General advised the ministry that there were sufficient grounds in the report to justify Sabal's termination. He reportedly received one month's notice pay with vacation plus salary that was withheld while on suspension. Sabal had been managing the polyclinic for 5 years and is known as a UDP supporter.

The Ministry of Health apparently does not have enough to file a police report - as they did in the Nasley Summerville case. The Commissioner of police has also received a copy of the report.

There is also an audit report into mismanagement at the Punta Gorda polyclinic and that administrator has also been suspended.
