Busted With Two Sacks Of Lobsters

3 fishermen were taken to court today for fishing lobster during the closed season. Fifty-four year old Jose Augustine Garrido, a fisherman from Consejo, took the rap for 142 lobster tails caught during closed season, was fined a total of $3,045 dollars today by Magistrate Carlon Mendoza after he pleaded guilty. Garrido was given until November 7th to pay, or he could face a year in jail.

Yesterday, Fisheries Officers went to the “Port o’ Stuckâ€￾ area and saw when the fishermen throw two white sacks into the mangrove. When the officers retrieved the sacks they found lobster tails.
