In December of last year, the home of Lebanese diplomat, Sarkis Abou Nehra, was broken into and almost cleaned out. Several guns and ammunition, pieces of jewelry and other items were taken from the residence. Abou Nehra was not in the country at the time, but his caretaker and his wife and child were. During the invasion the family was attacked, and the wife was raped. 18 people were initially charged for an assortment of crimes ranging from aggravated assault to rape. But charges against most of them have been dropped. Apparently, authorities have been unable to link several of the accused to the invasion of Abou Nehra's home.

Ladyvile police commented on this yesterday:…

Charges for aggravated burglary against Gerson Grinage and Randolph Coleman were withdrawn, leaving only Brandon Baptist, Tyrone Meighan, and brothers, John and Sheldon Grinage to stand trial.

The Grinage brothers, their cousin Lane, Baptist, Meighan, and Randolph Coleman all saw the charges of conspiracy to commit burglary and conspiracy to commit aggravated burglary withdrawn against them.

Tyrone Meighan was originally charged with the rape of the estate caretaker's wife. However, after forensic evidence surfaced, the charges were dropped against Meighan.

Charges of theft against Gerson Grinage and Randolph Coleman were also dropped.

The charge of handling stolen goods was dropped for all persons involved except Crystal Augustine. Augustine, who was granted bail in the Supreme Court after her arrest, fled the country forcing her surety to pay the fee for her.

The trial is scheduled to continue on November 24th.
