Eight Years For Hemmans
Thu, October 27, 2016
In May of 2012, Gareth Hemmans Jr. and Miguel Zaiden had a fight over a woman. After the initial altercation ended, Hemmans left and returned with a machete, which he used to chop Zaiden four times in the arms and elbow. Hemmans, who has no previous convictions, appeared in the Magistrate's Court last week Tuesday for a trial without jury, where he was convicted for attempted murder. During the trial, Zaiden was noted as an unfavorable witness because he was unable to identify Hemmans as the person who injured him, while Hemmans had an alibi. However, due the fact that he seemed to have no remorse, Justice Adolph Lucas decided to sentence Hemmans to eight years in prison.
