Cop Charged For Pistol Whipping Villager

An Orange Walk cop accused of beating up a Guinea Grass resident has been criminally charged. Yesterday Police Constable Jaime Gongora was arraigned on a charge of wounding at the Orange Walk Magistrate's Court.

It took police one week to come up with charges after Gongora allegedly pistol whipped Hugo Noh in guinea Grass Village on Sunday November 6th. According to reports both men had been drinking and Gongora stopped Noh who was speeding within the village. They had an angry exchange of words, and Gongora allegedly pistol whipped Noh with his service weapon. Noh ended up with six wounds to the head.

9 days later Gongora was taken to court where he pleaded not guilty and was offered bail of $4,000 plus one surety of the same amount. The case was adjourned for the 21st of February, 2017.
