Big Money For Rural Cops
Wed, December 14, 2016

Yesterday Belize City and Dangriga cops got their officer of the month award. Well, 25 officers from Eastern Division Rural will be getting theirs soon, in cash. $12,500 was donated to the formation and Assistant Superintendent Edward Broaster told us that the money is for those cops who excelled in their professional development program. Broaster says it is always important to uphold and recognize a good work ethic.

ACP Edward Broaster - OC, Eastern Division Rural
"Earlier in the year we spoke to you about the professional development that we had planned for rural eastern division as it pertains to our professional development. We have received a very generous donation from Kerny, a director of a large corporate services business in Belize licensed and regulated by the IFSC in Belmopan under the Ministry of Finance. During our long discussions and consultations on the prevention of money laundering we had discussed how integrity and honesty are key characteristics in our mutual industries meaning the private sector and the police department."

"He has graciously given us 10,000 in cash and we have been graced as well with $2,500 in cash by the president of the Senate Mr. Lee Mark Chang, so on the 13th of January we will be awarding 25 officers of the Rural Eastern Division who have acted with integrity, honesty and professionalism to the citizenry of the Rural Eastern Division."

The 25 officers will be getting their $500 each on January 13th. Regarding Christmas holiday news, Broaster and his team have activated their Secret Santa, but no one knows where or when he will appear, so we will keep following up to see what they have in store for us.
