And so while that's for Primary schools, what about High Schools? Well, the Belize Association of Principals of Secondary Schools also agreed with the Ministry to open school early after the Christmas - so that they could achieve the minimum of 180 school days in a school year. In a release today, they add, quote, "It must also be noted that the addition of 6 days to the school year will not affect the 30 working days vacation leave that teachers are entitled to per year." It concludes, "It is therefore the position of the Association that schools reopen on Tuesday January 3rd, 2017."
