Alleged Beatdown By Babylon Brothers
Wed, February 1, 2017

This evening, two police officers – who are also brothers, Kenrick and Akeem Gamboa, were arraigned in the Magistrate's Court for the alleged brutal beatdown of a nineteen year old.

On Saturday, Crawford was hanging out at a house at mile four when the Gamboa brothers and another assailant rushed him. The allegation is that one of them then took out a gun and fired at him. Crawford attempted to flee, but was chased into the city, where the officers allegedly caught and beat him. Crawford's mother made a formal complaint, and he positively identified his alleged assailants.

In court, both Gamboa’s were read charges of grievous harm, while the older brother Kenrick was charged with aggravated assault with a firearm. The brothers pled not guilty, and were given bail for the charge of grievous harm. However, both were remanded into custody. Kenrick's charge of aggravated assault with a firearm does not allow for bail to be set, and younger brother Akeem was unable to pay his bail. Akeem will be held overnight at the Queen Street Police Station, while Kenrick was remanded to the Central Prison until April.
