Jamaica Says OK to Brazilian Corned Beef
Thu, April 6, 2017
It looks like the canned corned beef crisis may be over for Jamaica. According to reports, the Jamaican government has lifted the ban on the importation and sale of corned beef from Brazil. The ban was imposed after reports came out about the Brazilian corned beef factories exporting rotten meat. Representatives from Jamaica's Ministries of Health and Industry visited two of the plants in Brazil and confirmed that their products were not contaminated.

We reached out to BAHA for an update about Belize's corned beef situation, but they were unable to give us a statement. So, BAHA'S Temporary suspension of the issuance of import permits for Corned Beef remains in effect.
