Financing Biodiversity
Thu, May 11, 2017
Today the Government of Belize hosted the Global Biodiversity Finance Initiative's South to South cooperation exchange. The BIOFIN workshop brings together stakeholders from the environmental community not only within Belize, but also Costa Rica, Colombia and Guatemala, to discuss and develop strategies to invest in and develop the country's natural resources. We spoke to the Minister of State in the Ministries of the Environment and Sustainable Development, Dr. Omar Figueroa, as well as BIOFIN representative, Andrew Seidl, about the importance of investing in our environment...

Belize signed onto the global BIOFIN agreement in 2015, becoming one of 30 countries dedicated to sustainably invest in its biodiversity.
