Deputy PM To Havana With High Level Delegation

Deputy Prime Minister Patrick Faber last went to Cuba for Fidel Castro's funeral in November of 2016. Well, 6 months later he's back in Havana leading a High-level Delegation.

Faber is accompanied by Tourism Minister Manuel Heredia Jr., and Minister of State in the Ministry of Health, Dr. Angel Campos. The delegation is supported by a technical team comprising officials from the Ministry of Foreign Trade, the National Sports Council, NICH, and the Belize Embassy in Cuba.

The mission runs from May 22nd to the 26th during which time Faber will visit with Cuban Vice President Valdes Mesa. He will also meet with the Ministers of Education and Culture, as well as other government officials to discuss culture, sports, tourism, and trade.

Faber also met with with current Belizean scholarship recipients studying at the Latin American School of Medicine. It is the first high level delegation to Cuba since the Barrow administration took office in 2008.
